As a freelance I have edited illustrated non-fiction projects for adults and children for many different publishers and packagers. Most recently I have edited several children's series for QED, but, before that I project edited many series and titles for Pitkin Publishing, including the Pitkin History of Britain series and some of the Pitkin City guides.

My skills as a writer feed into my skills as an editor, and vice versa.

Project manager skills:
• liaising with authors, in-house editors and designers
• briefing illustrators, photographers and picture researchers

Editing skills:
• commenting on book plans
• copy editing text
• copy fitting
• proof-reading
